PeopleCert bonus fight turns City & Guilds sale into a governance test
PeopleCert's attempt to claw back almost £3mn from two former City & Guilds executives has turned a disputed executive-pay row into a sharper test of governance after the sale of a historic vocational qualifications business. The company that bought City & Guilds' commercial awarding and training operations says an internal investigation found that former chief executive Kirstie Donnelly and finance chief Abid Ismail authorised payments to themselves without approval. Their lawyers say the payments were approved and documented as part of the wider transaction.
